Goals for 2009 and 2010

Well for 2010 I don't need new goals because I failed to accomplish most of my 2009 goals. I want to do better, but it is difficult. I want to be a better Christian, better father, and more dedicated and loving husband. Praise by to God that I have this chance.

LeBron's Conference Call on the Adrenal Gland

Dr. LeBron Long again gave an excellent presentation on the adrenal gland and how stress affects it. Did you know:
1. Stress is the single largest cause of financial loss of employers, as employees miss work
2. Stress is the single largest cause of sickness.
3. Stress is not an emotion but rather the wear and tear on your body that often causes negative emotions.
4. Stress on our body is like lack of maintenance on a car or house, and like "gunning" a car. While stomping on the gas has quick results, it results in rapid wear that shows up later.

Food we eat, air we breathe, and water we drink, along with emotional stressors, such as overwork are the main causes.

The adrenal gland regulates the output of several substances that have important health affects. It is a "rush" reflex. However, continued high stress can cause it to wear out, which releases cortisol. I'm sure you've heard of this chemical, which is often blamed for belly fat, etc. Cortisol causes the cell structures to break down, which leads to premature aging and illness.

LeBron Long, a Naturpathic Doctor, did his 200+ page dissertation on "adaptagens," of which 40 or so have been found to date. Just like the body shivers and sweats to adapt, adaptagens are unique herbs and other substances that almost miraculously repair cells and give the adrenal some breathing space.

Adapt-A-Life has two products to help with the wear and tear on our body:
Adapt-A-GenX is a liquid that has the top 9 of these adaptagens
Adrenal Support is a new product targeting the adrenal.

My wife doen't like Coke and I shouldn't either

From my Adapt-A-Life business newsletter.
Coke or Water (by NaturoDoc Home)
For those who watch what they eat and drink. This! Is really an eye opener.... We all know that water is important but I've never seen it written down like this before.
Properties of WATER:
1. 75% of Americans are chronically dehydrated.
2. In 37% of Americans, the thirst mechanism is so weak that it is often mistaken for hunger.
3. Even MILD dehydration will slow down one's metabolism as much as 3%.
4. One glass of water will shut down midnight hunger pangs for almost 100% of the dieters studied in a University of Washington study.
5. Lack of water, the #1 trigger of daytime fatigue.
6. Preliminary research indicates that 8-10 glasses of water a day could significantly ease back and joint pain for up to 80% of sufferers.
7. A mere 2% drop in body water can trigger fuzz short-term memory, trouble with basic math, and difficulty focusing on the computer screen or on a printed page.
8. Drinking 5 glasses of water daily decreases the risk of colon cancer by 45%, plus it can slash the risk of breast cancer by 79%, and one is 50% less likely to develop bladder cancer.
And now for the properties of COKE:
1. In many states (in the USA ) the highway patrol carries two gallons of coke in the truck to remove blood from the highway after a car accident.
2. You can put a T-bone steak in a bowl of Coke and it will be gone in two days.
3. To clean a toilet: Pour a can of Coca-Cola into the toilet bowl and let the "real thing" sit for one hour, then flush clean. The citric acid in Coke removes stains from vitreous China .
4. To remove rust spots from chrome car bumpers: Rub the bumper with a rumpled-up piece of Reynolds Wrap aluminum foil dipped in Coca-Cola.
5. To clean corrosion from car battery terminals: Pour a can of Coca-Cola over the terminals to bubble away the corrosion.
6. To loosen a rusted bolt: Applying a cloth soaked in Coca-Cola to the rusted bolt for several minutes.
7. To bake a moist ham: Empty a can of Coca-Cola into the baking pan, wrap the ham in aluminum foil, and bake. Thirty minutes before the ham is finished, remove the foil, allowing the drippings to mix with the Coke for a sumptuous brown gravy.
8. To remove grease from clothes: Empty a can of coke into a load of greasy clothes, add detergent, and run through a regular cycle. The Coca-Cola will help loosen grease stains.
9. It will also clean road haze from your windshield.

For Your Info:
1. The active ingredient in Coke is phosphoric acid. Its pH is 2.8. It will dissolve a nail in about 4 days. Phosphoric acid also leaches calcium from bones and is a major contributor to the rising increase in osteoporosis.
2. To carry Coca-Cola syrup (the concentrate) the commercial truck must use the Hazardous material place cards reserved for highly corrosive materials.
3. The distributors of Coke have been using it to clean the engines of their trucks for about 20 years!
Now the question is, would you like a coke or a glass of water?

9 Health Secrets I'd like to Try

PLEASE KEEP ME ACCOUNTABLE TO THESE CONCEPTS
From LifeScript Healthy Advantage
1. Go through your pantry and cupboards and get rid of the bad stuff. “No trans fats, high-fructose corn syrup – eliminate 100 percent from [your] diet,” he says. “That alone will transform most people’s lives.”
2. Whenever possible, replace processed foods with whole, real foods that are organic.
3. Include omega-3 fatty acids in your diet by eating fish (such as wild salmon or sardines) or taking omega-3 dietary capsules.
4. Remove all gluten, dairy and eggs in your diet for three weeks, then add them back and measure how your body feels to determine if you if you have sensitivities and/or inflammatory reactions to these foods.
5. Pay attention to the colors you eat. “Eat a rainbow of color: blue, green, yellow, orange, red, purple… and I don’t mean Skittles or M&Ms,” Hyman says. Colorful whole foods are the source of “all the vitamins, minerals and phytonutrients that run your metabolism and keep you healthy.”
6. Eat early and eat often. Begin with a daily breakfast that includes protein, whether it’s a protein shake, eggs or a whole grain, gluten-free cereal with nuts. “There’s a real need for eating something with protein, which regulates the amino in acids in your brain,” Hyman says. That, in turn, communicates with your body’s appetite control center, which shuts down your hunger system. “You won’t be hungry until lunch,” Hyman says. “But if you start with a cup of coffee and big bagel or muffin you’ll be starving by 11 a.m. and craving sugar, even if it’s an 800-calorie meal.”
7. Don’t eat late. Curb your desire to snack before bedtime. “When you eat at night, particularly two to three hours before bedtime, you store the food you’re eating. That’s how they make sumo wrestlers fat.”
8. Exercise daily. Even a 30-minute walk once a day will keep you far healthier than a sedentary lifestyle. If possible, exercise in the morning to ensure you’ll get it done. But any time of day is a good time to move, Hyman says.
9. Take a quality multivitamin each day.By incorporating these healthy habits into your life, as well eating the right foods, Hyman says you can reprogram your body to lose weight. “The payoff is you don’t feel deprived, hungry or tired. You feel full of energy, the weight comes off and many other chronic problems go away,” Hyman says. “The thing most people tell me is, ‘Doc, I didn’t know how badly I was feeling until I was feeling so good.’”
